What we install up to eight stories
Curtain wall
Stick-built aluminum curtain wall carrying its own weight back to the floor slabs, glazed with insulated units. The system most mid-rise office and hotel elevations are built from.
Window wall
Floor-to-slab units set between structural floors — common on multifamily podium and hotel towers, and faster to install than curtain wall on a repeating floor plate.
Storefront at grade
The first two floors of most towers are a storefront system, not curtain wall: entrances, lobby glazing, and retail bays with heavier framing and door hardware.
Interior glass
Office fronts, conference room walls, and demountable partitions on the floors above — usually the same package, awarded to the same glazier.
Why the eight-story limit is stated up front
Elevated glazing is priced and insured by height. Past eight floors the access method changes — swing stages, davits, and rigging — and so does the coverage a general contractor needs to see on a certificate. Carrying a limit we can actually document is worth more to a GC than a bid that unravels at prequal.
We build to the aluminum framing standards the specification will name — AAMA performance grades for air, water, and structural loading, ASTM test methods for the glazing units, and the IBC requirements enforced by the authority having jurisdiction. Glass comes from Guardian, ordered to the approved shop drawings.
Who you are actually hiring
Donavon Wheeler runs the DFW operation out of Corinth, about 40 minutes from downtown Dallas, and walks the elevations himself before a number goes on paper. Infinity is family-owned with 30+ years of commercial glazing behind it — storefronts, curtain walls, and hotel fit-outs — built in Stockton, California. The photographs below are one of those jobs: a four-storey Tru by Hilton, glazed top to bottom — punched window openings across the guest floors and the storefront package at grade. It is a California project, not a Texas one; the Dallas–Fort Worth branch is new and runs the same specs and jobsite process as the original company. How far ahead should we order glass for a high-rise package?
Build the schedule around the glass, not the other way around. Standard insulated units run about three to five weeks; laminated safety glass three to six; custom aluminum framing four to eight; fritted or specialty patterned glass six to ten. Structural glass on a high-spec elevation can run eight to fourteen weeks.
