Fix a Sliding Door That Drags: Roller and Track Repair
Bypass and sliding doors ride on nylon or steel rollers, and rollers are wear items — they flatten, seize, and shed their bearings years before the glass has any problem. The symptom is a door that drags, jumps the track, or needs a lift-and-shove to move.
The repair is to match the roller to the door: diameter, axle style, and mount spacing differ by manufacturer, and the wrong roller is why DIY kits so often end up back in the box. We identify the hardware, fit the correct rollers, clean or replace the track, and reset the door height so it glides square.
If the track itself has corroded through — common where water sat in the channel for years — we replace the track section rather than condemning the whole enclosure. The glass doesn't care how old the track is.
Stop Leaks With the Right Seal, Sweep, or Wipe
Most 'my shower door leaks' calls are seal calls. The bottom sweep hardens and loses its wipe, a side seal was never the right profile for the gap, or the seal is fine but installed with the lip facing the wrong way.
The fix is matching the seal to the gap location and the glass thickness — a 3/8-inch sweep will not seat on 1/2-inch glass, and a jamb wipe does nothing at a threshold. We carry the common profiles, cut them to length on site, and set the wipe direction correctly.
What we won't do is caulk a moving edge. Silicone on the operating side of a door fails in weeks and glues the door shut on the way out — it's the most common bad repair we're called to undo.
Hinge, Handle, and Hardware Repairs
A frameless door that's dropped at the latch side, clips the curb, or won't self-close usually needs hinge adjustment or replacement, not new glass. Frameless hinges carry the full panel weight and their set screws and pivot blocks wear.
We re-shim and re-torque where the hardware is healthy, and replace hinges, handles, and clips where it isn't — matching the existing finish wherever the part is still made. Brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, and brushed gold lines are almost always matchable; discontinued builder finishes get the closest current equivalent, shown to you before we order.
Cracked or chipped glass is the one thing repair can't touch: tempered panels can't be cut, drilled, or patched after fabrication. A damaged panel means a glass-only replacement — we pull the dimensions and hole positions and order a matching panel, keeping the hardware you already own.
Know When Repair Is the Wrong Answer
We're a repair-first shop, but honest about the line. Permanent hard-water etching that a razor and descaler can't touch is in the glass, not on it — no repair fixes that. A frame that's corroded and separating from the tile is a failed system, and resealing it just buys months.

The repair guides on this site — the roller-and-track guide and the seal replacement guide, both published in March 2026 — were written directly out of the repair calls our crew was already running around Corinth and Denton: flattened bypass rollers replaced, corroded tracks swapped, sweeps matched to the glass.
